Nonprofit Spotlight:Mid-Atlantic Food Resilienceand Access Coalition

The Mid-Atlantic Food Resilience and Access Coalition (MAFRAC) is deeply committed to strengthening food resilience and accessibility across the region. They achieve this through a comprehensive strategy that involves preparing stakeholders for emergencies, empowering communities through diverse funding initiatives, providing essential resources to Hunger Relief Organizations and Farmers, and fostering collaboration with local partners. By implementing these multifaceted approaches, MAFRAC endeavors to create a more resilient and equitable food system that better serves all communities in the Mid-Atlantic region. They are becoming the GO-TO for all things food!

They have set up a web of connections that involves local farmers and food distributors.  They have been able to provide a multitude of grants to small farmers and pantries and have directly supported capacity building.  They are hoping to expand their network, consolidate redundancies and have an emergency response ready if the need arises again.
