Give Local Piedmont Raises $1.14 Million for Local Nonprofits

WARRENTON, VA – The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) is proud to announce the tremendous success of this year’s Give Local Piedmont event, a 24-hour online giving campaign held on May 13, 2025. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community, $1,139,240 was raised to benefit 214 local nonprofits through 3,175 unique donors.

“The outpouring of support is a testament to how deeply people care,” said Jim LaGraffe, Executive Director of NPCF. “At a time when nonprofits are navigating increased needs and limited resources, our community stepped up in a powerful way to ensure critical work can continue.”

Nonprofits across Fauquier, Culpeper, Rappahannock, and Madison counties benefited from the daylong event, which featured a variety of spirited prize competitions and giving incentives. More than $100,000 in prize money and bonus funds—made possible by generous partners like the PATH Foundation—were awarded throughout the day. Contests included:

  • Power Hours, where nonprofits competed to secure the most donors in designated time slots

  • A Surprise Pop-Up Power Hour announced the evening of the event to energize last-minute giving

  • A Nonprofit Video Contest awarding $1,000 for the most engaging and widely shared promotional video

  • The Biz Give Challenge, encouraging local businesses to champion their nonprofit partners

Leading up to the big day, NPCF offered workshops and strategy sessions to help organizations strengthen their messaging and connect more effectively with supporters. Early giving, which opened two weeks in advance, gave nonprofits additional time to build momentum and outreach.

“We’re thrilled not only by the dollars raised, but by the renewed sense of connection this event fosters year after year,” said NPCF Board Chair Eugene Triplett. “Give Local Piedmont is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of the incredible impact local nonprofits make every day.”
