R. Brevard Wallace III, MD
Dr. M. Brevard Wallace lll was the senior partner of Culpeper Family Practice from 1976 until his retirement in 2015. The practice grew from two men to a practice with four physicians as well as four nurse practitioners, one being a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and a diabetic educator. Even in retirement, Dr. Wallace continues to volunteer one morning a week at the free clinic. During his active career he served as Chief of Staff of Culpeper Memorial Hospital being the last unpaid MD in that position prior to their hiring a chief medical officer due to the increasing demands of that office. He also served as a physician advisor for the MSVRO which is the physician peer review organization of the medical Society of Virginia. He served 10 years on the Board of Directors of Culpeper Regional Hospital, During his tenure on the Hospital board, Dr. Wallace was honored as board member of the year. During his time as a board member for the Culpeper Regional Hospital, he was a major driving force behind the Powell Wellness Center creation. He served as their Chairman of the Board, as well as the chief medical officer of this organization for the first 10 years of its existence and is still the chief medical officer. His major activities now include traveling, skiing and golf with lots of time devoted to his children and grandchildren.
