The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation has a variety of funds to maximize philanthropic giving in our community. Our Now & Forever Fund and Emergency Response Fund give us the greatest flexibility to respond to emergent and changing needs in our four-county service area while other funds provide donors the maximum benefit for their philanthropic giving.
Funds
The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation Now & Forever Fund is an undesignated fund which allows us to meet immediate needs of organizations in our area. This fund allows us to be responsive to unanticipated costs that arise outside of our regular grant cycles. The Now & Forever Fund ensures that we have the flexibility and capacity to meet emergent needs in our community. You can designate giving to the Now & Forever Fund as part of your planned giving.

Emergency Response Fund
In early 2020, The Foundation established an Emergency Response Fund(ERF) to facilitate rapid-response community giving during the COVID-19 pandemic. ERF distributed over $600,000 to local nonprofit organizations as they went above and beyond to meet new needs, such as providing free childcare to first responders and equipping local classrooms with Personal Protective Equipment.
The Emergency Response Fund remains in place to facilitate the same rapid response in the event of future local emergencies such as natural disasters or other public health crises. NPCF is extremely grateful to our community of donors, whose generosity and foresight were critical to the evolution of the fund.
